I. Pre-start Inspection of Diesel Generator Set
1. Check whether the engine oil level is within the marked scale lines. If insufficient,
add the same type of engine oil until it reaches within the marked lines.
2. Check whether the coolant level is approximately 6mm below the radiator cap. If insufficient, add clean water to the specified level.
3. Check whether the electrolyte level is about 15mm above the plate surfaces. If insufficient, add distilled water to the specified level.
4. Inspect the area around the generator and remove any items that may obstruct operation or functioning to ensure proper ventilation.
5. Ensure the main switch of the diesel generator is in the OFF position.
6. Ensure the fuel tank is more than half full and the fuel supply valve is kept open.
II. Starting the Diesel Generator Set
1. Ensure all buttons on the control panel are reset, and adjust the speed control handle to the "Idle" position.
2. Turn the key to the "ON" position and press the start button to initiate the diesel generator.
3. Gradually adjust the speed control handle until the voltage reaches "400V" and the frequency is 50Hz,
then tighten the fixing handle nut. The generator will operate normally.
4. Under normal conditions, the generator should start on the first attempt or within a maximum of three attempts.
If the generator fails to start after three attempts, the fault indicator on the control panel will illuminate.
In this case, identify the cause, resolve the issue, and restart.
5. After starting, check for any abnormal noises or vibrations, oil leaks, water leaks, or air leaks. Also,
check the control panel for any abnormal indications. Within 10–15 seconds of starting,
the oil pressure should reach the normal range (35–60 p.s.i.). If any abnormalities are detected, take appropriate corrective measures.
Once everything is normal, close the generator’s main switch to begin power supply.
III. Stopping the Generator Set
1. First, switch off the generator’s main switch and let the generator run without load for 5 minutes.
Then, adjust the speed control handle to the "Idle" position and run for another 5 minutes before turning
it to the "STOP" position to shut down the diesel generator.
2. In case of an emergency requiring an immediate shutdown, you may directly turn the speed control handle
to the "STOP" position without switching off the generator’s main switch.
